NEWS REPORT ON NATIONAL SPORTS DAY 2023

The significance of National Sports Day in India lies in its connection to the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, a legendary Indian hockey player. Major Dhyan Chand’s contributions to the world of sports are celebrated on this day. This highlights the significance of the day in promoting sports, physical fitness, and healthy lifestyles across the country. The guidance and coordination of various ministries and authorities underline the collective effort to encourage active participation in sports and to inspire individuals to adopt healthier lifestyles.
As per the guidelines and directions set by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of AYUSH, and the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) in New Delhi, National Sports Day 2023 celebrated at Sri Veerabhadreshwar Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Humnabad. Karnataka on 28 and 29 August 2023.
The day is celebrated to honor athletes and promote the importance of sports and physical activity. The event took place on August 28th and 29, 2023, and was inaugurated by Mr. Tippanna, the Physical Education Director of SPRS, Humnabad, gave brief introduction of Major Dhyan Chand and said that if you want to be healthy and fit then you should do regular exercise and must include sports in your daily routine.
Dr. Indrajeet P. Shah, the Principal, conveyed a motivating message to the students, emphasizing the importance of sports and physical activities in their daily routine.
Dr. Srinivas K., a Professor from the FMT Department, highlighted that the primary objective of National Sports Day is to promote the significance of sports and physical fitness.
Dr. Janet S., a Professor from the Homoeopathic Pharmacy Department, encouraged participants to display good sportsmanship.
With great team spirit and enthusiasm, the students exhibited their sportsmanship by participating in all the athletic and ground events organized by the sports committee members Dr. Prashant Hudgi, Event Coordinator.
During the event, various sports and athletic activities were organized, including Volleyball, Throw Ball, Badminton, Tag of War, Lemon and Spoon Race, Skipping, Chess, and more. The event aimed to encourage students to participate in sports alongside their studies, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
The closing ceremony of the event took place at 4.30 PM, attended by the Administrator, Principal, Teaching, Hospital, Non-Teaching staff, I, II, III BHMS students and sports committee members. Winners of the various events were awarded medals and certificates to recognize their achievements.

Their encouragement and leadership play a significant role in promoting sports, fitness, and a sense of unity among the participants. It’s through the efforts of individuals like our Chairman Sir that events like the National Sports Day are made possible and impactful.
